The Ducklings have been testing the pirate ships that they built to see if they could float. They also investigated to see how many pirate passengers they could safely fit on board before capsizing!
The Ducklings and Little Chicks have loved exploring and problem solving in the water tray during this lovely weather. They constructed and figured out a way for the fish to travel between the water trays by talking and working together.
The ducklings have enjoyed solving the problem of how to get the apples out of the cylinders by just using the water and pipettes. It was also a good activity for strengthening their finger muscles to prepare them for writing.
This week Kestrels enjoyed an interesting and interactive afternoon with Jayne from United Utilities.
Jayne spent the afternoon teaching the children all about the water cycle and discussing different ways we can all save water around the home and school.

The children in Owls thoroughly enjoyed meeting their visitor Dave, who was representing United Utilities. He discussed the water cycle in great detail and how everyone can save water. The children learnt lots of exciting facts and have each made a water saving promise.
