Occupation: Retired School Bursar Role on the Governing Board: Chair of Governors Governor Appointment Date: 01/04/2013 Why I became a Governor: I had worked for Lancashire County Council for over 35 years in the Education sector and youth service and felt my wealth of experience in these areas would be useful. I am also very passionate about children’s education. One interesting fact about me: I am a keen gardener and rose grower. I am also a member of the local PPG which is the Patient Participation Group we liaise with the General Practitioners on concerns by patients. We also volunteer at various events and have recently been helping with the COVID vaccinations.

Occupation: Assistant Principal Business Support - Blackpool Sixth Form College Role on the Governing Board: Parent Governor Governor Appointment Date: 06/11/2017. Why I became a Governor: I wanted to become a governor because I am passionate about education and I hope that I can utilise some of my experience to support the school and children One interesting fact about me: I spend most of my free time at football pitches watching my sons play football, rain, wind or shine!

Occupation: School Games Organiser, Wyre & Fylde School Sports Partnership Role on the Governing Board: Co-opted Governor Governor Appointment Date:22/04/2021. Why I became a Governor: I have worked with the school for a number of years and want to offer support in order to build even further on the schools brilliant successes to date. I have a good understanding of how schools operate from my professional role and can hopefully transfer some of my insight to the role as a governor to meet the needs of the Carleton Green community. One interesting fact about me: I am a level 5 qualified football referee and have 3 pets, 2 cats called Barbie and Ken and a tortoise called Fred.......and they are all girls!!!

Vice Chair - Local Authority Governor

Occupation: Project Manager for Revoelution, a community led initiative in Blackpool based in the Revoe area. I also work as a youth worker on Mereside Blackpool 3 nights a week. Role on the Governing Board: I am the SEN Governor. Governor Appointment Date: 11/11/2020. Why I became a Governor: I joined to try and support our school to be able to offer the best opportunities for Carleton children. One interesting fact about me: I worked on a travelling fair in North East USA and as a DJ in the Arctic Circle in Norway.

Occupation: Head of Music at Broughton High School, Preston Role on the Governing Board: Parent Governor Governor Appointment Date: 20/07/21. Why I became a Governor: Carleton Green has been such a great school from a parent point of view, so I wanted to give back to the school community. I have been teaching Music since 2006 so if I can support the school and pupils in developing Performing Arts further that would be fantastic. One interesting fact about me: I have performed at Disneyland Paris, on stage playing the trumpet which was an amazing experience as I got to see behind the scenes. My trumpet playing has also resulted in me being part of computer game soundtracks for the Xbox and PlayStation!

Occupation: Year 5/6 Class Teacher Role on the Governing Board: Staff Governor Governor Appointment Date: 09/09/2021. Why I became a Governor: To support the staff, children and Carleton Green community as a whole by striving to raise standards of teaching and learning in order for the school to be as successful as it can be. One interesting fact about me: I love spending days out and trips away with my family. We visit the Lake District on a regular basis and enjoy annual holidays to Florida. I also enjoy a good day out at the Trafford Centre!

Occupation: Compliance Manager Role on the Governing Board: Parent Governor Governor Appointment Date: 09.09.2021. Why I became a Governor: I joined Carleton Green as a pupil when the school first opened back in the 70’s. Since then my four younger brothers have attended, as has my son. My daughter is still a pupil and I wanted to give something back to the school and help guide its future before she leaves. One interesting fact about me: I’ve been on the front cover of a magazine. I also filmed a part in a tv program- only to find I was edited out from the final cut.

Occupation: Head of Teaching, Learning and Curriculum at Unity Academy Role on the Governing Board: Co-opted Governor Governor Appointment Date: 09/09/2021. Why I became a Governor: Having spent the last 5 years at Carleton Green, 3 of which as a Teacher Governor, I am keen to continue to support the school moving forward on our exciting journey towards educational excellence. Carleton Green has a warm and welcoming family feel and is an exciting team to be a part of. One interesting fact about me: I have been a volunteer with the Scout Association for the past 15 years and am currently Assistant County Commissioner for West Lancashire.
