Image of Inspector Brazil’s Visit

This morning police Inspector Brazil came to talk to us about his job. He showed the children how they can tell he is a policeman, he has lots of signs on his uniform which says ‘POLICE’.

Mr Brazil asked then asked the children what number we would ring if we needed the police. All the children were very good at replying ‘999’. He then asked if we knew our names, our age, the names of our mum and dad, the number or name of the house we live in, and the name of the road we live on. Mr Brazil said that we would be asked these questions if we were to ring the police.

Mr Brazil carries a police badge, with his photo and name. He has a hard hat and a strong, heavy vest to keep him safe.

He also showed us all the things he carries with him, a radio so that he can talk to other police officer, pen and notepad, phone, spare radio battery, a folding stick, hand cuffs and a key to the handcuffs.

Mr Brazil brought three sets of handcuffs so that we could have a look at them.

Mr Brazil then gave us some homework! We have to learn the answers to the questions we would be asked if we rang for help from the police.

We really enjoyed Mr Brazil’s visit!
