The children in KS1 have had a fantastic day with the people from Halifax Bank. The children had a brilliant workshop learning all about were money comes from and the sensible ways of using money. We listened to a story and now understand the importance of saving our money. The children had the opportunity to become bankers were they counted money and paid money into the bank. the lovely people from the Halifax Bank gave out lots of goodies including a new money box! We really enjoyed this opportunity, thank you!

What was your favourite part of the workshop? What did you find out?

My favourite part of the workshop was finding out that you have to have money to buy the toy you want and you can’t always get it. I found out what you do to earn money.

I really enjoyed the workshop and my favourite part was when we tried out the stamps. I got a money box that has the Queen on it. I put money in it. It was the change from the man at Costcutter when I got a fruit winder. I wrote a list of jobs that I can do at home for mummy and daddy to earn extra money to put in my money box. They include tidying my bedroom, cleaning the bath and cleaning the sink and helping mummy daddy when they ask me to do things for them.

I enjoyed the problem solving and the story of the girl who saw a game she wanted but her mum didn't have enough money to buy it. I learned it's good to save money.
