Making Shakers

The drumming workshop last week has inspired us to make shakers. The children chose a cardboard tube, which they then painted. Once it was dry they placed a piece of cellophane over one end and secured it with an elastic band. They then had to choose either oats, pasta, rice or lentils to put into their shaker before covering the end.

Later in the week we hope to use our shakers to accompany some African music.
