This week in Kestrels we have been learning how to use the formal written method of addition and subtraction. Most of us were able to add and subtract up to 4-digit numbers. We were then able to use our knowledge to solve one and two step problems involving addition and subtraction.

In our writing we have been looking at how we can use interesting and exciting vocabulary to describe settings. We have looked at good examples of setting descriptions and used these to magpie ideas and up level our own descriptions.

In Science we carried out an experiment to create the processes of evaporation and condensation within our own classroom. In our PE lessons we have been working hard at improving our aim when kicking a ball and being able to use different pass techniques in a variety of game situations.

We have finished the week by exploring the difference between countries and continents. We can now name the 7 continents of the world and have begun to label the different countries of Europe on a map.

Our Star of the Week this week is Blake. He is our star this week for having a sensible and mature attitude and being a good example to others. Well done Blake!

Have a lovely weekend everyone and we look forward to another fun and busy week of learning next week to close this first half term on the school year.

Last week I enjoyed math and science, especially Mr Coppers science experiment with the water and ice.
