Children in Hawks this week had a cooking lesson in the Wing. They have been learning about healthy lifestyles and balanced diets. The children have also been learning about life as a Titanic passenger and have created different menus. The children worked in teams to create two breakfast options;  pancakes with yoghurt or syrup and a fruit platter, two lunch options; Bruschetta and a Greek salad, a dinner option of tomato and basil pasta followed by scones with jam and butter.

YUM, YUM!

What did your team make? How did you make it? What did you enjoy most about your cooking lesson?

My team made sultana/fruit scones. We followed the instruction and it turned out as a success. I enjoyed trying a different subject and learning how to make new things.

We made a fruit platter. We made it with tinned pineapples in juice , tinned peaches in juice , strawberries and bananas. I enjoyed all of it because I have never cooked before

My team made bruschetta. We cut and de-seeded the tomatoes. Then, we rolled the basil up and diced it. Next, we added the basil and tomatoes together. Finally, we rubbed garlic cloves onto the baguette slices and put the basil and tomato mix onto the baguette. I enjoyed making and eating the food.
