Today, year 5 and 6 had a talk with Mrs McGrath about Romeo our school dog.

Romeo is going to be our school therapy dog. He will help us with our learning. Romeo will help us read and turn our pages in our books.

Romeo will help anxious children this may include helping them in exams.

On a Friday, Romeo is going to help our Heads and Deputies give out the Star of the Week certificates out and Carleton Code badges.

Why is Romeo the best species of dog to be a therapy dog? How is Romeo being trained to be a therapy dog? What will it mean when Romeo wags his tail? What impact do you think Romeo will have at school? How do you think Romeo will help you?

How will Romeo adapt to school life?

Well Romeo is a Labrador cross with a collie and collies are like sheep dogs so they are very smarts intelligent spieces of dogs . He is being trained to help other people when they're reading like flipping pages of a book and to calm us down in exams and other nasty situations,if we're angry ,sad and anxious pupils. When Romeo says his tail in the air side risked it tells us he is happy and when he says his
tail Mrs McGrath said his whole body moves. His impact would be everyone or we'll most people will be calm and chilled after they meet him ,and he will make learning just that little more fun.I think Romeo will help me when I am either anxious and sad about something maybe,or maybe in Y6 in the end of year exam.

Romeo is a cross between a Labrador and a Collie. This will help us in school because Collies are very intelligent and Labradors are very loveable. Labradors are also very gentle. eg. they can hold an egg in their mouths without breaking it. Romeo will be taught to turn pages when we are reading and he will help to give out Star of the Week certificates and Carleton Code badges. Romeo will help lots of pupils, including myself, to be calm and make us feel more relaxed during times such as SATs.

Romeo is a collie and Labrador cross which are really good dogs to be trained and good to be a therapy dog. I think Romeo will help me and other children with their learning and will comfort them when they are in tests and exams and even stats, if you get worried they can stroke his head gently but make sure Romeo knows you before stroking him.

Romeo is a Labrador , Collie cross. He is the best species of therapy dog because they don't malt very much and they r very intelligent dogs. He is getting trained to turn pages on a book to help students read and is training to be able to cope with angry or prevoked pupils. When Romeo wags his tail it means he is happy.
I think Romeo will make school become a better learning environment and a calmer and happier place to be.
I think Romeo will help me when we are getting close to sats he will calm me down and stop me from feeling anxious. I really enjoyed the talk and can't wait to meet Romeo :)

Romeo is a labrador, collie cross. He is the best breed of dog because they are very clever and they don't malt that much and also one of the best dogs to cope with. They are also very intellegent and loveable dogs. When romeo wags his tail upwards and side to side it means he is happy and excitable. He will help our learning, especially in year 6 because if you are scared or nervous during your sats you can stroke him or pat him on the hat to make you feel better bye for now...

Romeo is a Labrador mixed with a Collie. This would help us in school because whenever someone is anxious or stressed they can stroke Romeo. When Romeo wags his tail that means he is very happy. You should never stroke a dog by putting there hands right on top of his head first or he would jump up at you or maybe bite. So you should put your hand out in front of him and then stroke him.
Miss Howarth I hope you get over your fears of dog :)

Romeo is a cross between a Labrador and a Collie. This is the best breed for a therapy dog because both breeds are very intelligent and the don't malt too much hair. Romeo goes to classes learn how to adapt to the school environment. This will help him to get familiar with noises and smells. When Romeo wags his tail, it means that he is happy but I've been taught to be careful when you stroke him. I think Romeo will help anxious and nervous children to be more comfortable in tests. Hopefully Romeo will help me with my year 6 SATS!

Mrs McGrath chose Romeo because he is a Labrador/Collie cross. They are very gentle, loving and intelligent. Romeo has had special training to become a therapy dog. He can help us when we feel anxious and he has learned to turn the pages in our books. I think Romeo might help me with tests when I get nervous and he will help me do my Deputy Head girl duties. I can tell when Romeo is happy because he wags his tail.
